GOLF LOS LAGOS

Project Description

Los Lagos Golf Course is set in the plains close to the Ebro River at the town of Pinseque (Zaragoza), 300 km from Barcelona and Madrid in Northeast Spain.

In 1994 the founders of this member course selected our team to design an 18 hole golf course. The first phase was built from 1994 to 1996, following our design and instructions. Later on the course was finished to our 18 hole layout, but with design adjustments from Spanish golf course architect Ramon Espinosa.

The course is a 72 par, being our first 9 holes a 3.085 meter par 36. Our design created a links like landscape by creating mound and hollows in order to form a new landscape, more interesting than the original flat lands. By excavating lakes and hollows we generated the material required for mounding and establishing all design features. Being a windy area a large number of trees were planted together with bushes to create a more interesting landscape and generate protected areas as well as some shadow areas.
